Only In America... How To Make Deep Fried Butter

Nope... this is not a joke! On my most recent trip to California, my friend took me to the O.C Fair- I guess its our their version of the PNE. My friend Nick and I were running around devouring a brick of chili cheese fries, scarfed down a humongous slice of pizza and topped it off with funnel cake. That in is self already sounds disgusting, and trust me ... we didnt feel so hot afterwards.
As the rest of them are buying deep fried oreos, resese's pieces's, twinki's and then i saw .. deep friend butter... YUP... dont try it... its too good to be good at all for you. Even just saying " Deep Fried Butter" made me puke in my mouth ... just a little.

Tic Toc.. where can I find this???

Seriously... where can I find this thing??

As It Crosses My Mind... This Is How It Goes... Random Thoughts

I know... It's been quite a long time since I've posted, I only really got up to my 2nd day of my Cali trip in June and had way too much fun and didnt get the time to post things as I said I would. Not to worry, those photo's and videos have been uploaded on my laptop and I will post them, just so you can see how much fun I had in California... Be patient and stay tuned for that!

I wanted to touch bases on the fact of self growth. I can say for myself that in the past year and a half, the young lady you see before you is a very different person from before. I've spread my wings and hopped out of the world that I had created for myself, not knowing if I would ever be able to handle the different situations, obstacles and just " The Real World" that awaits me. The " Comfortable World" I once was in for a consectutive 9 years allowed me to lose touch with not just everything, but myself. For those who have buckled down into a counterpart, significant other, boyfriend/girlfriend, your "Boo" or whatever cheesey pet name you want to call one another, you know exactly what I am talking about.

I allowed myself to be so disconnected to my surroundings: family, peers, friends, etc... that in the end, I crutched myself to whatever felt " comfortable". I made the mistake of allowing this to happen fully knowing that if this foundation that I stood on were to ever fall apart, I would be at the bottom, on my own and thats exaclty what happened. I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful support system that helped guide me to see that, because I've been outta the loop for almost a decade, the real world is accepting, with limits. It's there, but I'd have to put myself out there and be open to know that even though the world is accepting, that I'm going to experience the good, the bad and the in between. I've met many people from different walks of life and made many life long friends. The diversity of the world allowed me to see that, "hey... its not too bad. "

Now, this journey hasn't just been mary-gold sunshine, this trek that I lead myself on has been quite the roller coaster ride. I've made a lot of stupid decision, put myself in really stupid situations and have had a lot of personal event happen. I've made friends, lost some, unliked by some and probably hated by many. It's an adventure.. Lifes an adventure! Even with obstacles and the "bad things" that may occur, you always have to take yourself out of the box and look at what good you can take from the situation, and move foward. As much as it would suck, say for example, you break up with your gf/bf because they were being douche bags and decided to not faithful, you know you can take the qualities of what you want and now know what you dont want in a partner and apply it to the screening process for your next potential partner.* A.D.D SIDETRACK FACTOID*There is hope... apparently statistics have proven you are suppose to encounter 79 ppl ( which includes dates, buddies with benefits and relationships) before you meet " THE ONE" - yeah, I know but I read the article on it!

For oneself, these situation that occur will always take place, it's really what you do with it. You can let these things roll off your shoulders and move on as if nothing ever happened, but on the real... thats not a way to live your life. Everyone should embrace the fact that in life... shit happens, whether it's good, bad, unsignificant or extremely important... things happen and its those moments that allows you, as an individual to soak it and apply it to yourself.

For the many many many many many stupid things that I've ever done in my 25 years of life, I've never once said, " I totally regret doing that!" I would say, " I wish I dealt with it in a better manner." But I would never regret making mistakes. I wouldnt be able to know any better if I hadnt fallen flat on my face. The things we do in life will not always turn out the way we want, as humans are not perfect. No one is, and once you sit there and realize that, acknowledge yourself for who you are, accept you for you, including your flaws and really be able to love youself 100% and really mean it.. you my friend are one of a kind that is still out there to grow and better yourself in this amusement park that we call " The Real World".

I don`t really know the main purpose of this entry was for, I guess in a sense, it was a way for me to express my self reflection that I've been doing that I've been doing for the past little bit. So many events have happened, and I can clearly say that I'm in a better place than a year and a half ago. I'm still in that process to lean more about myself, I have dreams and plans to accomplish, I've made some stupid-ass decisions, accepted it, taken responsibility and walked away from every situation a better person.

haa!! I know... this entry is one of those mind vomit kinda things, but I hope in some way or another... you can feel me on it.

San Fran Day 2 : Sights To See!

DAY 2: We in the "Cuts" ??? hahaha!

IMG_1357
Thank you Junior for my very 1st SF hoodie!

We went out late the night before and went to some little town into a little cut bar, posted up at the bar and watched the last half of the Celtics VS Lakers game and ate some good pizza and wings! The bar itself was kinda dead but everyone there was watching the game and was madd hating on the Lakers ( AS EVERYONE SHOULD... but let's not get into that. Lakers fans: We'll agree to disagree, mmk?). I have to say, the irish bartender made me some of the best highballs I've ever had: Double Rum with diet coke and pineapple - Tastes like sugar cane.. real talk! Then the next concoctions he made was called the " Bananarama" which consistent of captain morgan, peach schnapps, organge juice and pineapple juice- AMAZING! I highly recommend it!

After that, they took me to a bunch of lovely spots: we went to Stow Lake, where Junior was telling me and Boogs about " The Lady in White" - the whole shabam about that is that this lady had 2 kids and they went off into the lake and were playing, but drowned. Shes apparently still earthbound and lingers around the lake looking for her kids. Unfortunately, we didnt get to see " The Lady In White" but we did see the statue of her and her kids, it was kinda freaky! hahaha Junior tried to scare the shit outta me, but ended up freaking out Boogie; you just kinda had to be there.

On the top of Turtle Hill

We then proceeded to Turtle Hill: not a tourist spot, but its where all the locals go to see the beautiful view of most of SF. Its a pretty high spot cause there were madd flights of stairs... i think i worked off all the good food i ate that day. it was hella windy and we chilled there and had a couple smokes and then bounced.

this picture doesn't justify how beautiful Coit Tower looks.

Next spot we went to was Coit Tower, that was amazing to see at night... HOLY MOLY! i wish i brought my SLR at the time because i would have been able to get many sick shots, i did manage to get some dope shots with the blackberry, so i'll post those up when i get home. stayed there for a bit and then proceeded to the crocked street in SF - Lombard street. Boogie and Junior told me to drive down... I said " HA. F*ck that noise!" it was pretty crazy... if you were drunk... driving down that thing would sober you up, for sure! after that... we just called it a night! END OF DAY 2!!!

Alright, Day 3... I'll write that up later on tonight, I took tons of Dope pictures, so ya'll are in for a treat! Stay Tuned!

JA-WOW!!! I just woke up this morning to the sun shining into my room, it's a nice change from the clouds and crappy weather we have back home ( sorry guys!! ) So right when I got to SFO, I can already begin to tell you how much i hate that airport, even more so than i do PDX (Portland). My flight was delayed in the air for landing for a good hour. The guy beside me, nice guy but he wouldnt shut the hell up. Landed finally and waited almost an hour for my luggage.

Finally met up with Boogie and we drove back to his hood. I was trying to absorb the lovely scenic route, buildings, signs.. everything. I mentioned to Boogie how i found this place like home, but it was totally different. We washed up, met up with Jessie and proceeded down to Frisco's Haight Street. There's a lot of history about this street, apparently during the Vietnam war, this was the grounds for protesting against it and so there was so much history to this street. Cute shops, tattoo and piercing spots... we met up with Junior and they took me to the record store to do some "diggin' "... I dont think i've ever been sooo overwhelmed with all the vinyls and cds. all the old school stuff thats next to impossible to find.

We rolled down to Cha Cha Cha's, cuban joint and waited a little while for seats. It was pretty busy but we chilled out at the bar, had some good talks over a couple pitchers of Sangria. NOW... Havana on the drive, i must say, i love that joint and their Sangria is amazing on the patio, but Cha Cha Cha's beats you by a long shot. Juniors friend Jennifer met up with us, down ass and so nice!! We all got our table, ordered some of the best food i ever ate and moseyed out our way to the Hooka bar the block down. Now at this time, i'm already buzzin from the Sangria, we each got a drink and smoked some good mixed berry tobacco. The joint had a pretty chill feel to it, I never realized how common they were here because we only have one of them back home.

After Hooka, we rolled to twin peaks, they all wanted to show me how dope the view was of the city. Its like going to Burnaby Mountain late night and just admiring the carpets of lights that outlines different streets and parts of the city. This was by far the nicest point ive ever seen in a long time. It was hella windy and even though i was in jeans, a tee and my hoodie... i was freeeezing! We rolled home and caught some ZZzzZZZz's.

This morning we started off the day pretty early. Baya, Boogie's niece, woke Boogie up and we all got up and proceeded to fill our bellies with some food!He took us to this little place called the " Black Bear Diner". Very cute little spot with newpapers as menus. Got me one of my all time favorite breakfasts, Corned beef hash, over medium eggs and English muffins. I was only able to eat half of it and i was hella full... both Boogie and i got madd case of food coma aka itis!

Boogie lives about 45 mins from Frisco in a nice city called "Sunset City", the view from his house is amazing! We drove down towards the lake near his home and wow... so much wild life and the plains are out of this world. People parked to the side to fish of the little piers and bridges. Boogie stopped by one of his favorite spots to fish, we pulled over and had a smoke, its extremely windy but if it wasnt for the breeze it would be scorching hot.

Just about to head out to the city and watch the game somewhere.... :)

sooo... has anyone gotten any tattoos anywhere in frisco thats worth going... i wanna get me my quote that i've always wanted!!

I'm Going ... Going, Back ... Back to Cali.. Cali!

That's right folks, yet again, and as I do every year... I'm headed back to California!! This trip was really intended to visit friends, I think the past couple of years that I've gone, it's been overkill on the shopping. My sister knows how I shop so I think I've been to every single mall there is in the OC area... I know... Horrible!

This year I have taken a different approach, I purposely left all my credit cards at home and have come with cash with that being specifically used for activities. I going all out on the sight seeing and we'll leave the shopping for another time.

1st stop, the Frisco area! I'm excited actually because this is my 1st time to Northern California. I have some distance fam bam there, but this is strictly to visit Bay area friends and let them show me around. I know as corny as it sounds, I wanna see the Golden Gate bridge and hit up the academy of science, see korea town, etc!! Hella excited!! I'll be staying with good friend Boogie who I know has tons of things for us to do and for me to see.

Keep you guys posted... im about to board the plane ... Portland... please be good to me, dont let me gauge my eyes out for the 2 hours im there!!!

*CROSS FINGERS* Please.. Please let me sit beside someone cute! :P
