Dear Summer 2010 . . . I'm gonna miss you! Part I

Yet another rainy day in Vancouver, Labor day wasn't the sunny one as it was the year before. I honestly cannot believe that this summer has flew by so quickly. I actually took the day to myself this morning to run errands downtown and as I was walking down Granville street downtown, I recapped my summer this year and needless to say... It had to be one of the most memorable summers I've had. Summer 2009 was just as amazing, but for some reason, this summer topped it off.
It was quite the eventful one of all summers, both good and bad, I still wouldn't have had it any other way.
So let's recap exactly how it went.

My summer started early, and it all started with my birthday in April of this year. I decided that because I entered my mid-twenties this year that I would do something big... and where else would you do something big but in Vegas. So, I had Kim come with me and I had such a blast. I did have a birthday thing here too, invited 25 of my closest friends to have dinner at Circa Lounge- From what i could remember... I had fun until the 20 some-odd shots caught up to me and I was escorted out by 10pm and did even make it to the club. Thank you friends for taking good care of me or else i would have probably died from choking on my own puke :)
Vegas was so much fun. Kim and I left the weekend after my actual birthday and met up with my lovely friends from Calgary and SanFran.

Jp, Kim and I were waiting on Albert to come to mine and Kim's hotel room  figure somewhere to eat... But I think we went and ate at Serendipity at Caesars Palace. Waited a good 30 mins in the sun to get our seats and we ordered some good brunch food. JP wanted french toast, so he ordered the "Devils Breakfast" and ended up with ... well this

Yeah the "Devil's Breakfast" said " French Loaf", but we didnt anticipate it literally being a actual loaf. He only managed to eat a small corner of it- even our waitress gave him shit for not even attempting to eat it.  You kinda had to be there for his reaction when it got to the table. Albert, Kim and I were laughing at him for a good while.

We had only stayed there from Friday to Monday so it was so nice to spend my 25th with a group of great people!!

" San Fran Meet Canada"
this was just some of the homies from Frisco that came out for my birthday - Thank you all!

The next big trip for me was my annual California trip. My sister resides there so I make sure that I go there to visit her and my friends that I have there. I consider Cali to be my second home, I mean... I go there every year, even sometimes 2-3 times in one year. What can I say?? The hot sun, beaches, beautiful people, great eats and amazing shopping- who wouldn't want to go. I actually got to go twice this summer. Once in June and once in August. Although the August trip wasn't really planned and just kinda happened, I still managed to get some personal downtime and spent lots of time with family and friends. O.C Fair- chili cheese fries, funnelcake, deep fried oreos.. Yup.. I felt like such a fat ass when I got back home!

In June I left Vancouver for 2 weeks, spent my 1st week in San Fran- it was my 1st time ever being there in Northern California and I got some awesome Frisco hospitality from good buds Boogie and Junior. Boogie and his family let me stay with them and I also got to stay with Junior at his place in Daily City.
Frisco- reminded me so much of Vancouver, the " Chill and laxed" kinda vibe was what really got me. Everyone was hella friendly. Also, our weather was very similar- Although, Vancouver rains a lot, it still had that chilly wind that reminded me so much of home.

I was so amazed at how fast people drove down there. Freeways were HUGE and everyone cuts eachother off and it was the norm. Yeah, I dont know.. thats just how it works there.

1st night I got there, Boogie and I met up with Junior, Jeremiah, and Jenn on Haight Street. They took me to some dope food joint called " Cha Cha Cha's and Jenn ordered some good food that we all inhaled! Sangria by the pitcher and good company...  Welcoming Committee- Thank you!
After eating.. we walked down the street to a hooka bar and drank some more and had smoked some good flavored tobacco.

The Next morning, Boogie took me to a cute little joint called " Black Bear Diner"
I had my corned-beef hash - YUM!!!

One of the nights, Junior took Boogie and I took this spot called "Turtle Hill"- this picture doesn't do justice, but this was one of the highest points in the city. It wasnt a place where everyone knew about but just the city locals know. The carpet of lights was breath-taking AND... hahah this would have made a really good make-out spot for this hormonal teenagers.

Boogie and Junior took me to Fisherman's Warf and spare of the moment kinda thing, Junior got all 3 of us tickets to go on a boat cruise around the bay.. underneath the Golden Gate bridge and past Alcatraz. Aside from the bay water splashing me in the face- it was fun!

After the cruise we walked over to Pier 32 where the famous sea lions chilled out- it was pretty smelly, but I've never seen so many seals try to hump each other.. no, forreal!

I took this pretty sick shot on the way back from the Warf towards the cable cars station... look in the arch of the structure... You can see the boat in the distance.

So Ending of PART I. I have So much more videos and pictures to upload so stay tuned... continuation ( part II) will be posted this week.
